James “JaMo” Thomas - CEO/Founder
James “JaMo” Thomas is an accomplished CEO/Founder of Rising Sun Ink non-profit organization, he is a mentor, humanitarian, and activist with natural leadership talents and proven business acumen. Specializing in optimizing community outreach, youth programs, and community awareness. His proven talents in building strategic partnerships with community leaders, churches, and people alike to driving necessary change in the community.
In 2017 JaMo was hired as an independent contractor for The Chance for Life Organization as a Transitional and Peer Recovery Coach to assist men and woman who were formally incarcerated with re-entry services back into the community. Also, JaMo was appointed to organize a march in the city of Detroit for juveniles unfairly sentence, which caught the eye of the National Acclaim organization Campaign for the Fair Sentence of Youth based in Washington D.C. In addition, JaMo establish Meals on Wheels to feed the homeless population in Detroit and Inkster Michigan which lead to him forming partnership with several agencies to currently feeds 600 families in the Detroit, Inkster, and surrounding communities a week.
In 2018, JaMo was appointed as the Public Relation Director for the Nation Outside Detroit Chapter and in that time emerged as a visionary leader in the movement to end the extreme sentence for children, Clean Slate Legislation and poverty. In 2019, JaMo was appointed as the Co-Coordinator for the Nation Outside Detroit Chapter, because he demonstrated outstanding leadership and passion in reforming the criminal justice system and ending poverty within the community. Also, he was hired by Incarcerated Childr4en Advocacy Network (ICAN) based in Washington D. C. as a Regional Connector which seeks to amplify the stories and voices of leaders
who were incarcerated youths.
