Our Mission

The Rising Sun Ink Organization mission is to enhance the quality of life of individuals in economically depressed communities that are impacted by poverty, mass incarceration, social injustice, and failed community development.

Community Initiative

Mission
  • Rising Sun Ink began feeding the Inkster homeless population in 2017.
  • Rising Sun Ink created a warming center for the homeless, domestic violence victims, and those
    who needed emergency shelter during the winter months.
  • Rising Sun Ink hosted several stop the violence rallies and town hall meetings to address violence
    in the community.
  • Rising Sun Ink hosted several fundraiser for Inkster families
  • Rising Sun Ink consistently provided back to school supplies for the Inkster community.
  • Rising Sun Ink hosted events throughout the year to create a safe space for the children ex. Trick
    or Trunk, Mentor Me, etc.
  • Rising Sun Ink hosted a Health Fair for the Inkster Community which included several agencies.
  • Rising Sun Ink hosted a Financial Literacy Course in money management.
  • Rising Sun Ink hosted voter registration seminar.
  • Rising Sun Ink provides baby formula and food.
  • Rising Sun Ink provides clothing, shoes, and toiletry items.

Adversity In Inkster

  • In need of Location and financial assistance/resources to continue
    this initiative in the Inkster community.
  • Rising Sun Ink as great as the work has been has finance 99.9% of the
    projects and initiative by way of personal, several partners, and
    private donations.

Risk Factors

  • Unable to service the community.
  • Rising Sun Ink is unable to provide food on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday.
  • Volunteers are being discourage.
  • Community projects are on standby due to location stability.
  •  Unable to carry out day to day operations.

Our Goals

  • Continue to service the Inkster Community
  • Partnership with the city of Inkster and other organizations within the community to create a safe space for the children, seniors, families, and end homelessness and poverty.
  • To continue to provide re-entry and mentor services.
